Margrie Phillips-Franklin was born June 9, 1930, in Longview, Arkansas, to the late Leslie and Evelen Phillips. She was the first of seven children. She was first united in matrimony to the late Joe B. Miller and in that union eight children were born and there were two stepchildren. She was then united in matrimony to the late Roosevelt Franklin where two children were born. She departed this life on September 25, 2014, in the comfort of her home in Lacey, Arkansas.

Margrie was a member of Promise Land Baptist Church in Lacey, Arkansas, for many years and with the guidance of God, she was led back to her home church, Mt. Pellum AME in Longview, Arkansas, until her passing. She was also a dedicated member of the Golden Star Chapter 380.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sons, George H., James R.D. and Roger L. Miller; one daughter, Claudia K. Miller; four brothers, Leon, Leo, Kelly and Sam Phillips; one stepchild, three grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Margrie leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Emma Miller and Leslie Brock, both of Lacey, AR, and Marilyn (Jack) Suber of Monticello, AR; three sons, Charlie Miller of Lacey, AR, Tommy (Paula) Miller of Warren, AR, and Ephran (Kimberly) Franklin of Monticello, AR; one stepchild, Irene Miller; one brother, Clemon (Bonita) Phillips of Warren, AR; one sister, Annie (Sam) Foster of Jessip, MD; 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and a best friend, Margrie Lee Franklin of Longview, AR.
