She confessed her love for Christ at an early age and joined Holmes Chapel. She had many roles including former youth Sunday School teacher, trustee, deacon, communion, preparer and participant of adult Sunday School, prayer meeting and Bible study. She was also a member of the usher board for over 20 years, where she served as the chairperson.
She attended Drew Central Schools where she graduated in 1971. She worked for 15 years at Burlington Industries in sewing where she had seven consecutive years of perfect attendance. She also worked at H&L Poultry for a number of years. Along with working other part-time jobs, she worked at the University of Arkansas at Monticello where she performed the task of dining room worker as well as custodian for several buildings until the Lord called her home.
She is survived by her two daughters, Christi Veasey Berry and Shalonda (Johnathan) Matthews-Joiner; three grandchildren, Justin and Demarcus Berry and Legaci Joiner; three brothers, Dalton (Martha) Fisher, Johnny Ray Spencer and Kent (Sandra) Spencer; one sister, Tyronza David; an aunt, Mildred Jones, all of Monticello, AR; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many devoted friends.
