Ms. Bettie Gean Chavis was born on April 27, 1940 to the late James Edward Chavis and Ruby Lowe Rich in Wilmar, Arkansas. She was called from her earthly home to be with her heavenly father on November 29, 2014.

She confessed to Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church in Wilmar, AR. She attended Wilmar Public Schools and was a homemaker.
She was proceeded in death by five sisters; Theorthris Douglas, Gladys Binns, Thelma Owens, Mary Rich, and Jo Ella Rich. Five brothers; Waymond Cooper, D.G. Harrison, Samuel Rich, Willie Lee Rich, Jimmie Rich.

She leaves to cherish her memories one son; Patrick Chavis of Wilmar, Arkansas. Two Daughters; Clodenner Miller (Eddie), and Juanita Daniels of Wilmar, Arkansas; One God-daughter; Christell ONeal of Little Rock Arkansas; Four Sisters; Annie Lee Dirks & Valances Hugh of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Theresa Chavis of Dallas, Texas, Addie Chavis of Conway, Arkansas; Three Brothers; Andrew Hall of Little Rock Arkansas, Rufus Rich (Joyce) of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Davell Chavis of Washington; Seventeen Grandchildren, Twelve Great-Grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. A special cousin, Patricia Douglas; Special friend, Charlie Mae Jackson; Special niece, Willie Mae Miller.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Saturday, December 6 at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church in Wilmar with burial in Wilmar Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday night at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home. Online guestbook www.stephensondearman.com.
