Charles N. "Chuck" Roberts Jr., age 79 of Monticello, passed away at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff Friday, April 17, 2015. Chuck was born on January 24, 1936 in Monticello, AR to the late Charles Niles Roberts Sr. and Rena Mae Edmonds Roberts.

While living in California, Chuck worked eleven years for Wonder Bread and was a member of the Teamsters' Union. He also worked for Chevron Oil for ten years as a control operator. He and his family moved back home to Drew County in 1982. After retiring from the Drew County Sherriff's Department, he went home to what he enjoyed doing all of his life, which was cabinet and custom furniture building. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, and catfishing. Chuck was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a member of Second Baptist Church, a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner.

In addition to his parents, Chuck was also preceded in death by a son, Larry Roberts; a daughter Lori Roberts; three sisters Dorothy Sipes, Judy Hussey and Eloide Grubbs; and two brothers David Roberts and Leon Roberts. He is survived by his wife, Christine M. Roberts of Monticello; three children, William Deeb and wife Becky of Star City, Theresa Boyd and husband Jay of Tulsa, OK and Anne Hauer and husband Knut of Dallas, GA; nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m.Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Second Baptist Church with burial at Pleasant Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, April 20, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home Chapel. Online guestbook at www.stephensondearman.com.
