David William "Dave/Pap" Knight, age 94, of Wilmar died Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. Dave was born in Wilmar on August 15, 1920 to the late Jess and Genie Mays Knight. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife Catherine Lucille Creed Knight; his sister Lucille Kulbeth Kaundart; and his brother Cecil Lamar Knight.
Dave spent his 94 years, 9 months and 26 days in Wilmar. He was a logger, truck driver, a farmer and rancher. He served in the United States Army where he was a veteran of World War II. He also served on the Wilmar School Board, the Drew Farm Supply Coop Board for 38 years and was a long-time member of the Drew County Fair Board. He was a Mason and received the Baptist Spirit award in 2006.
He is survived by his daughter, Eloise Worlow and husband Bob of Hensley; his son, Dr. Tim Knight of Wilmar; his grandchildren, Sheila L. Watts and husband Brian of Hensley, Dr. Marty O'Fallon and wife Leia of Wilmar, David T. Knight, Jr. and wife Becki of Monticello, Hayden O. Knight of Pine Bluff and James Knight of Crossett; his great grandchildren Lila, Kane and Gracie Zeno, Will O'Fallon, David Knight III (Trey), Abigail Knight and Della Knight. He is also survived by two bonus granddaughters, Meredith Grimmett and her son, Matthew David Webb III and Christy Phillips and husband Chanse along with their boys, Bryce, Dylan and Weston.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 14 at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenny Worbington officiating. Burial to follow in Wilmar Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 6:00 8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Wilmar Cemetery c/o Betty Fuqua P.O. Box 132 Wilmar, AR 71675.
