Derrell C. Jacobs, age 67 of Monticello, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2015 at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. He was born February 11, 1948 in DeWitt, AR to late Wayne Jacobs and Mildred Lofstron Jacobs. He was also preceded in death by a brother, John Reaves and a sister, Dot Reaves.

Mr. Jacobs was a training manager for Burlington Industries for thirty years before becoming employed by Hood Packaging Company. He received a business degree from Arkansas A&M College (now UAM) graduating Magna Cum Laude. He also served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era having his tour of duty in Germany. He was a member of Pauline Missionary Baptist Church, an avid Arkansas Razorback fan, enjoyed being outdoors and being around people.

Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Worring Jacobs of Monticello; two daughters, Becky Jacobs Lobitz and husband Brice of New Orleans, LA and Karen Jacobs Halley of Crossett; his twin brother, Harold Jacobs and wife Tricia of Pine Bluff; one sister, Mary Catherine Brock and husband Tommy of DeWitt; one granddaughter, Skylar Pearce of Crossett; and two grandsons, Colton and Tyler Lobitz, both of New Orleans, LA. Derrell was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by his family and friends.

Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with burial in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Pauline Baptist Missionary Church, P O Box 299, Monticello, AR 71657.     Mrs Jacobs , I'm not for sure if you remember me. Derrell and I were in the same unit 4/64th in 1971. We met when you arrived. Not long after', I was sent back to US. Before I left, Derrell left his
    ,name and address with me and said call him anytime. 52 years later,while cleaning out my photos fromback then I found notes and photos I had forgotten. I am sorry to hear of Derrell's passing, Be more than glade to post or mail what I have. I hope this gets to you.
