Joy Nel Davis, age 81 of Monticello, passed away Friday, September 4, 2015 at her residence in Monticello. She was born in Caryville, FL on April 17, 1934 to the late Toby and Flossie Martin Retherford.

She was the widow of Joe F. Davis, a housewife and member of First Baptist Church in Monticello. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Vern Johnson; a brother, Doyle Retherford; and a grandson, Justin Davis.

Survivors include sons, Chris Davis and wife Stacey of Monticello and Kim Davis and wife Teresa of McGehee; sister, Johnnie Skipper of Nashville, TN; brother, W.T. Retherford of Caryville, FL; grandchildren, Shae Kulbeth and husband Joseph, Brett Davis, Lauren French and husband, Daniel and Garrett Davis; and great-grandchildren, Adyson and Hatley Kulbeth and Willow French.

Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 6, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Monticello with burial to follow in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service.
