She was the widow of Calvin Handly, a retired seamstress for MonArk Boat Company and a member of First Assembly of God Church in Monticello. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Buddy Higgason, Milton Higgason, Victor Higgason; and one sister, Euna Ward.
Survivors include two sons, James Melvin Handley and wife Elaine of Greensboro, NC and John Wayne Handly and Karen of Wood River, IL; a daughter-in-law, Kedran Handly of Monticello; a grandson, David Handly of Monticello; three granddaughters, Dana Handly of Wilmar, Jennifer Handley McMillan and husband Jason of Walterboro, SC and Jamie Handley Miksch of Greensboro, NC; and six great-grandchildren, Corey, Connor, Thomas, Skylar, Matthew and Brandon.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 6, 2015 at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel by Rev. Al Womack with burial in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Online guestbook www.stephensondearman.com.
