I served in the armed forces.
Levi Thurmon Jr., age 70 of Wilmar passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016 at his home. He was born on February 5, 1946 in Wilmar, AR to the late Levi Thurmon Sr. and Cariola Simmons Thurmon. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers, Freddie Brown, Leon Kendrex and James Willis Thurmon; five sisters, Norma Jean Arrington, Ollie B. Avery, Rosie M. Thurmon, Ethel Lene Harris and Etha Mae Jackson (May 1, 2016).

Mr. Thurmon, at an early age joined Mt. Tabor Baptist Church and was a veteran of the United States Army.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory, a sister, Irma L. Tate of Crossett, AR; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many friends.

Funeral service will be 11:00 am Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with burial to follow in Wilmar Cemetery. Visitation from 6:00-7:00 pm Monday evening at the funeral home. Online guestbook www.stephensondearman.com.
