I was really sorry to hear about the death of Sheilla Lampkin who was a student of mine many years ago at UAM. I enjoyed reading her columns in The Advance Monticellonian and appreciated her thoughtful and dedicated work as our representative. She showed that she truly loved southeast Arkansas by her life and work. May she rest in peace and may God bless and comfort her family.
  3. Brenda Dassori

  8. Latrina S. Ollison
My condolences goes out to the Lampkin family. Mrs. Sheilla was a very nice woman that I admired dearly as a young black little girl. She was the first person I recall telling me how pretty I was. I learned from her at an early age that race isn't a factor, that is possible be cared for by anyone regardless of the color of their skin. I'm sure she was a great role model to others, and provided exceptional service in everything she did and I'm most certain that she was greeted in heaven hearing "well done, good and faithful servant."
  9. Bob Barham
I am saddened to hear of the passing of this fine lady. I am retired from the Arkansas State Capitol Police (2013) and I knew Sheila when I worked there. I recall so many times when she would pass by, always had a kind word to say and a big smile on her face as she spoke to the Capitol Police officers. Sheila always appreciated the officers and often told us so. If we were lucky, we benefited from something Sheila baked for us! I'll never forget her laugh as it was definitely contagious. Rest in Peace my friend. Know that you will be dearly missed and that your service to the State of Arkansas is appreciated. I will miss you. My deepest sympathy to her family.

The earth has lost a beautiful soul and Heaven has gained an Angel. I have never meet anyone with such compassion, love and understanding for others as Mrs. Shellia. I have known her since the fourth grade from Wilmar school to Drew Central. A great Teacher, Advocate, and Leader. She was a friend to everyone and tried her best to do whatever she could to help in anyway, especially children. A dedicated SERVANT she was. I will forever hold her close to my heart. Judge, I know this is a great loss for you, but remember to hold on to God's unchanging hand. He will never leave you nor forsake you. To be absent in the body is to be present with the Lord and her WORKS shall follow her. Oh, what a CROWN she has to wear! I will forever Love the both of you. Know that you are not alone.
She's done with the troubles of this old world. Gone but not forgotten.
    Love, Sandra

My heart aches. I did not know Sheilla personally, but I am one of thousands that she impacted by her relentless effort to do right for the people of south Arkansas. As a resident of Drew County, I was inspired by her tireless efforts to study and learn more about the issues brought before our state legislature and how they affected her constituents. She never took her responsibilities lightly and was driven to make the best decisions possible for the education of our children and the betterment of our communities. I deeply appreciated her weekly updates to keep me informed and the time and effort she took to be present in our communities where she showed how much she cared about us and our lives. If we could fill the state legislature with Sheillas, what a great state we could be! She was truly a wonderful person who gave so much to others. My deepest sympathy to Damon and her family. Very Sincerely, Suzanne Wiley
