Shelly Handly, age 80 of Monticello, passed away Monday, March 6, 2017 at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. He was born September 10, 1936 in Monticello, AR to the late Matt J. and Myrtle Kulbeth Handly.

He was a retired mechanic at Burlington Industries, a United States Army Veteran of the Berlin Crisis and a Christian.

Survivors include his wife, Billie Hampton Handly of Monticello; two daughters, Jamie Handly and Stacy Spears and husband William all of Monticello; four grandchildren, Jordan Branch, Tristan Foreman, Joy Gamewell and Catie Beth Wilkerson; one great-granddaughter, Lily Gamewell; one sister, Sue Handly Johnson and husband Levin of Monticello; two nephews, Craig Johnson and Jeff Johnson; and several great nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Springhill-Handly Cemetery in the Plantersville community. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home. Online guestbook at www.stephensondearman.com.
