She was the widow of Robert Devon "Buddy" Marter, retired from Monticello School System, member of the Assembly of God Church in Dermott, food service provider for children, a minister, a singer of gospel songs and mentor for many upcoming ministers. She enjoyed praising God and being with her grandchildren. She was very family oriented, a loving wife, mother, sister, and Granny. She was also a very devoted prayer warrior.
Other than her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her son, Michael Devon Marter, two brothers, John Edward Vance and James Silas Vance; three sisters, Katherine Butcho, Maria Gray and Lewayne Hartness; a grandson, Timothy Edward Rhodes; a granddaughter, Tabatha DiAnn Rhodes; son-in-law, Carl Morris and eight angel great-grand babies.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Morris of Eros, LA; Melissa England and husband Ronald of Wilson, AR; daughter-in-law, JoAnn Marter of Monticello; one sister, Mary Lou Wallack of Monticello; six grandchildren, Amanda Hudson (Shayne); Andrea Proffitt (Jesse); Angela England (Kerry); Anna Ellis (Randy); Bud England (Jordan); Ashley Morris (fiance Shane); and sixteen great-grandchildren.
A very special thank you to her special niece, Lesa Cain and James and Dyanne Vance for their constant love and care for all they did for our family.
Services will be Friday, June 8, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home with burial to follow in Union Ridge Cemetery. Visitation Thursday evening at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Online guestbook at www.stephensondearman.com.
