Helen was a graduate of Drew High School. She received a certificate in medical records given by the Arkansas League for Nursing while being employed at Leisure Lodge, The Woods of Monticello. She worked at Burlington Industries for a number years. She retired from Burlington then returned back to her first love of caring for others at the Area Agency on Aging of Southeast Arkansas.
She became a member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of the late Pastor W.H. King. The Lord also allowed her to serve under the leaderships of Pastors T.S. Skipper and D.J. Buffington. Through the years, she had served as Choir Secretary and Treasurer under the direction of the late Sister Ella Scott and later with her great granddaughter, Sister Shelia Jacob. She explained that one of her most rewarding experiences had been to participate annually in the Church's Choir Program. She had always treasured the time she was crowned as 'Mrs. Morning Star'. In addition, she promised that she would always cherish the great experience she had serving with the Lola Tillman Mission Circle and the Annual Women's Day Committee.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Noley 'Little Boy' Vincent, a son Roy Lee Vincent, Sr., a stepson Richard Vincent, a grandson Roy Lee Vincent, Jr., and two brothers Wilbert Neal and Charles Spencer.
Helen Vincent leaves to cherish her memories: a sister Christine Jackson of Alameda, CA, two daughters Betty Jean Jones of San Francisco, CA and Angelia Annette Vincent of Monticello, AR, two stepsons Howard Vincent of Kansas City, MO and George (Brenda) Vincent of Sacramento, CA, 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 8 great- great-grandchildren, a special nephew and niece Wilbert (Rody) Neal of Kansas City, MO, and a special God son Artayzias 'T Man' Jacob of Monticello, AR.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2018 at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church with burial to follow in Campground Cemetery. Online guestbook www.stephensondearman.com.
