James was called to glory peacefully after a brave battle of sickness. He was a fighter and his faith in the Lord was his foundation of strength that kept him going without complaints. He was ready, but his only concern, "was were we ready to accept it."
James moved to Vinegar Hill at early age with his mother, Willie Joe Daniels from Lacey Arkansas. He was this skinny like boy who wore glasses, but had a lot of God-given talents. James was a excellent athlete and displayed it throughout his high school years. James joined the Air Force and served in the Vietnam War. He was a very knowledgeable and intellectual person, people often said he was before his time. James loved to fish and what he caught he shared with others or got a joy out of feeding others. He travelled the world and was a candidate to become an airline pilot. Our life choices take us in many different directions. James' route headed him toward back home again. This was the start of James' walk with the Lord. James accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior. He loved God with all his heart. Not only did he speak on it - he lived it in his everyday life. He became a member of Trinity Full Gospel Church which he loved dearly. He loved the members as well. He was ordained a Deacon there. He believed that we all were family and God made family bonds out of folks that were not related biologically. James was an only child, but Pastor Lorenza Simmons to my dad was his baby brother that he loved very much. Thank you and let his life be example of what God can do once you accept him into your life. He was an inspiration to all of us who knew him.
James was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his three children, Detra Morrison (Los Angeles), Sharry Lynn Green (Monticello), and Keith Morrison (Los Angeles): 7 grandchildren, Keyawn Floyd, Nicole Fobi and Kiara Morrison, Geordin Zolliecoffer, Sharalon Trotter King, Kevon Trotter, and Dellynzo Daniels; 10 great-grandchildren, Diar, Keyana and Mari, Deniseia Trotter Swain, Javon McElroy, Calvin King, Jr., Shaquita King, Micaela Williams, Kailey King, and Page Daniels; and 4 great great grandchildren, Aden, Aston and Ace Swain and Carter Moody.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with burial to follow in Oakland Cemetery. Online guestbook www.stephensondearman.com.
