Rowena Poteet Parrott James of Conway, Arkansas formerly of Monticello and Warren, Arkansas passed from this life on August 28, 2021. She was born May 2, 1926, in New Edinburg, Arkansas, to Hattie Easterling Poteet, and John A. Poteet. She was a good cook and enjoyed seeing her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Joe James.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories, one daughter, Mary ''Jeannie '' Parrott Sullivan, and husband John of Conway, Arkansas. She will remain in the hearts of her grandchildren: Kristin McBee Weeks and Mark of New Edinburg, Arkansas, Suanne Sullivan Bowen and Adam of Conway, Arkansas, Callie Rose Parrott of Houston, Texas; great grands, Hannah Weeks Estes and Austin of New Edinburg, Arkansas, Jameson Weeks of New Edinburg, Arkansas, Kirby Leggio of Houston, Texas; and great great grandson, Truett Allen Estes.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe James, her son's, W.D. Parrott and Roy Howard Parrott; daughter, Barbara Ann Parrott McBee Ogles; and her granddaughter Shelley Parrott Leggio, Pasadena, Texas.

A memorial graveside service will be held Saturday, October 2, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. in Oakland Cemetery, Monticello, Arkansas.

    To all of Rowena’s family, Prayers for all of you, she was loved by so many , but we know that she is in a much better place and free of pain. She was the best friend and neighbor anyone could ever imagine, I have so many memories of her and Joe. Love and prayers for all of you.

She was such a good friend and neighbor I wanted to go see her and so sorry that I wasn’t able to. She would love that sweet family that’s living in her house, a young couple and their 5 young children. Prayers for all of your family, love and miss you .

We were neighbors and friends for many years shared lots of good times, good food and sad times. Her and Joe were wonderful neighbors, loved and missed by so many, prayers for all of you.
