My sincere condolences to the family! Coach Berry took time for me back in the 70’s taping ankles, seeing orthopedic surgeons, putting me into the whirlpool (big tank with a MinnKota trolling motor) and mixing up his famous Gatorade (green Kool Ade, salt and water). I had the privilege of teaching his grandkids at a Hunter Ed Class at the Nature Center in Pine Bluff! I will always remember Coach Berry and anyone that knew him would say that as well!!

Thomas Berry was a good man. He was also a good friend to many people. We taught together, drove buses together in the Dollarway school district and had good times together in the back in the 80s. Thomas and I did a lot of fishing together. He took me to Oaklawn for my first horse racing experience. He made me buy him supper with the little bit of money I won. The last time I saw him was when I joined his family to go deep-sea fishing out of Destin a few years ago. Thomas Berry was one of the good guys. The world is a lesser place with his loss.
