He was retired from St. Louis Lambert International Airport, was a US Air Force Veteran and a member of Gethsemane Misionary Baptist Church. Arthur was a Past Master of Southern Cross Masonic Lodge #112 Prince Hall Affiliation; member of Tyree Consistory #64 and a 33rd Degree: member of Aahmes Temple #132 Shriners and a Past Patron of Queen Elizabeth Chapter #16 OES; and John Waller Court #81 Heroines of Jericho; a member of New Day, honorably and a member of the Baden Family.
Survivors include two sisters, Mary Thomas and Maurine Ward, both of St. Louis, MO; four sons, Willie Tannan, Kevin Hurt and Trey Owens, all of St. Louis, MO and Rodney Jefferson of Minneapolis, MN; one aunt, Ernestine Stanley of Monticello, AR; one special friend, Gladys Perry; one god-daughter, Hope Robinson of St. Louis, MO; and a host of other relatives and friends.
