James Clifton, Sr. was born on September 18, 1929, to the late Henry and Norma (Daniel) Clifton in Wilmar, Arkansas. He transitioned to be with his heavenly father on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at his home. James attended Wilmar School in Wilmar Arkansas. He also was a member of Holy Divine Spiritual Church in Lacey, AR under the leadership of the late Elder Elmer Fuller and Bishop Willie Ann Finley. James was first united in matrimony to Dorothy Webb and to this union came two children. He then wed Eupharzine (Wells) Clifton on February 29, 1956. They were married for 66 years. James started his working career at a young age in the logging industry with his brothers. If it had anything to do with pulpwood then James was your guy. He also had a love for farming with his wife and son. He spent his summers planting and selling tomatoes at the local tomato sheds and raising cattle. He also loved to fish with his family and riding in his pickup truck. James was a simple guy that loved simple things.
James is preceded in death by his wife, Eupharzine Clifton; two sons James Clifton, Jr. and Wallace Clifton; and siblings, Laron Clifton, Lloyd Clifton, Agrone Clifton, Helen (Clifton) Gardner, Maureen (Clifton) McKinley, and Elnor Rose Gray.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Bertha Harrison of Milwaukee, WI; daughter-in-law, Peggy Clifton of Monticello, AR; his grandchildren, Essica Clifton of North Little Rock, AR, Derrick Clifton of Monticello, AR, James Harrison and Randle Harrison both of Milwaukee, WI and Teasha Barber of Atlanta, GA; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

I’m so very sorry for your family’s loss! I also knew Mr Clifton through working at Pine Bluff Radiology. He was always so kind and respectful. We looked forward to his visits and I feel comfortable saying I think he looked forward to see us also. Often after we bought his vegetables he would gift us with a watermelon or cantaloupe or whatever he had available to give. Our world needs more men like Mr Clifton. He will be missed!

To all of the Family.. We are all saddened by the loss of Mr Clifton.. he was our neighbor for almost 40 years.. My Daddy thought the world of him as well as did we.. Mr. Clifton was one of the most kindest sweetest souls we have ever known.. he always brought us wonderful vegetables from his garden. And such a hard worker tending to his garden and cows..well up into his late 80s...or older.. what an Amazing man..Mr Clifton always loved and helped people once he took my son and I to town when my battery stalled.. he had the best personality and the sweetest voice.. there is absolutely no doubt where this beloved man has gone he's with our Father in Heaven.. we visited him a few months back.. sure wish we could have seen him one more time. But we sure look forward to seeing him again in heaven.. Prayers for all of his family...he will be so missed... God bless..

Im so very sorry for your loss. Mr. Clifton was the most kind and sweet man!! We got to know him when I worked for Pine Bluff Radiologists in Pine Bluff. He always came to our office and we would buy his tomatoes, squash, okra and anything else he had to sell. He practially gave them away to us. But I always wrote him a check for more than his asking price! And I always had a bottle of cold water for him! He brought Ms. Clifton by the office once for all of us girls to meet and she is just as kind! He will be truly missed. I havent seen or spoken with him since our office closed but I often thought of him! He had the prettiest eyes and the sweetest most kind personality.. From all the ladies at Pine Bluff Radiologists
