I served in the armed forces.
Dwain "Doc" Miles, 72 of Monticello passed away Friday, February 15, 2013 at his home. He was born May 1, 1940 in Tillar, AR to the late Jim O. Miles and Charlotte Bessie Hallman Miles.

He retired as a foreman with the Arkansas Highway Department after 40 plus years, was a U. S. Army Veteran of Vietnam and was a member of East Side Missionary Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and Assistant Bible Study Teacher. Dwain always put the Lord first and his family second. He loved people, was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed all of God's creation, and was a friend to many. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jim Otis Miles and Marlin Eugene Miles.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Norma Jean Maxey Miles of Monticello; three nephews, Jimmy Miles of Texas, Tommy Miles of Arkansas and Charles Burton of Little Rock; one niece, Linda Sue White of Kansas; two brother-in-laws, Dale Maxey and Allen Maxey; three sister-in-laws, Wanda Scrimshire, Sue Tiedemann and Patricia Wood.
