I served in the armed forces.
James "J.D." Lambert 85, of Monticello passed away March 7, 2013 at St. Vincent's Infirmary in Little Rock. He was born September 5, 1927 to the late Will Lambert and Reola Cavaness.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, a retired logger and a member of Pilgrim Rest A.M.E. Church.

He leaves to cherish his memories five children; Joyce A. Gold of Monticello, James C. (Lou) Lambert of Monticello, Barbara J. Lambert of Lakewood, CO, Deborah D. (Melvin) Tenner of Jacksonville and Tammy S. (Terry) Vaughn of Monticello; four sisters, Willine Farmer of Kansas City, MO, Shirley Williams of Albuquerque, NM, Sandra Williams and Carrie Lambert of Pine Bluff; one brother, Troy (Michelle) Lambert of Monticello; a special sister-in-law, Vera Lambert Wimberly; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

    I will forever remember when I first met Mr. James D. Lambert. My friendship/kinship with the family has withstood the test of times. He was always such a pleasant, bubbly, smiling, loving man to ALL. He made everyone feel like family, and treated all with respect. He will be missed, but thank God for the many memories that we will cherish. His large and growing family have a great legacy!
