Angee, Rosalyn, Beverly and other members of the Dickens Family: You all were blessed to have such a nice outstanding gentleman as a part of your family. He was a breath of fresh air, a light shining in the cave and an eagle who soared over this great nation. He was a student, teacher, leader and follower. He was there for you all and I am praying that he will always be a part of your past and present. I heard of his death today as I was talking to a lady from Montrose, Ms.Thomas.. I had no idea that he had passed but please know that I am praying for your strength and you each will see your loved ones again who have gone on to the mansion in the sky. They are preparing a room for you so please continue to love each other, respect each other and give Thanks to God for he is good and his mercy endureth forever. He is wearing his blue and white and smiling down on all of those who knew him. God Bless You each and think of him being out of pain, hurt and stress.

I miss my Baby Brother Ben in so many ways. The precious memories of us working on our daddy's farm... I would cover two rows so my baby brother could go inside and help our aging mother with chores and especially cooking. Ben was always happy to do anything to help our life be more comfortable. I would encourage him to go and attend the after school activities such as Speech Contests, being the band's drum major, Drama Club, yearbook staff, and so many more activities and functions and assured him that I would hold down the mowing of the lawn and chopping and picking the cotton crops. He made all of us so proud. A lot of his teachers helped so much. He loved and respected them and wanted them to be proud of him. His home away from home was with Mr. J.R. And Mrs. Jeannette Buckner because our parents had trust in them and the Big Tip Smiths and so many more families in Lake Village.
Well, Baby Brother Ben grew up and kept encouraging and motivating my daughter, Rozelle, to be the best she could be in life. He helped her to overcome the rearing up without her father involved in her life. Ben took her under his wings and seasoned her with the desires to want to be successful in life. Uncle Ben helped Rozelle out in crucial times in her college days and military days. Ben is still our Lifeline...precious memories of our hugs and more hugs..our conversations of debating and arguing and making up in the very next phone call... The next day.
Thank each and every one for your thoughts and prayers during this trying time in our lives without Ben. Please keep praying for our family.
Ben's Soror...Ben's big Sister... Rosalyn ( Rozena) and his "play daughter". Niece, Rozelle (Rozzellie). WE MISS AND LOVE YOU BENJAMIN SYLVESTER!!!

LIKE A FLORIST TREATS A FLOWER WITH CARE, SO SHALL THE WORLD TREAT SUCH A WONDERFUL PERSON LIKE BEN. BUT BEN WAS DIFFERENT FROM A FLOWER. A FLOWER ONLY ADDS BEAUTY TO A STABLE SCENERY, WHERE AS, BEN AS ADDED BEAUTY TO MY WHOLE LIFE. I REMEMBER BEN THE MOST FOR IS LAUGHTER, FOR HIS SMILE, FOR HIS KINDNESS, FOR HIS ABILITY TO DO WHATEVER HE SAT OUT TO DO. HE WAS LOYAL, SINCERE AND HONEST. HE WAS NOT ONLY MY CUZ, BUT HE WAS "MY FRIEND". I'LL ALWAYS REMEMBER GROWING UP WITH BEN. WE WERE VERY CLOSE AND STUCK TOGETHER DURNING ALL KINDS OF WEATHER. HE THOUGHT ALL MY JOKES WERE FUNNY AND NEVER SAID A HARSH OR A MEAN WORD TO ME. I ALWAYS LOVE BENJAMIN SYLVESTER DICKENS.
  29. Mikal Worsham, III and Madison Rodriguez
Mr. Dickens, We would call him, Professor Dickens, was our most prized teacher when we were in his class. He took out time with us and spent quality instructional time with us. We were always happy when we were in his class. He made our problems disappear. He made our sadness vanish. He took us under his wings as if we were the cleanest, wealthiest, most well mannered youngsters in the school. We were broken, devastated, and low income but he never made us fill lesser than the students who had it all going on at their homes and families. This teacher was our hope and inspiration EVERY day. I am who I am today because this teacher taught me about values and morals. He taught us how to look and feel like winners on the inside. He di not care if we were poor. He did not care if we were homeless. He cared that we had faith and trust in our inner beings. Our condolences for such a major loss toy the entire Dickens family and his friends. Thank you for Mr. Ben., our Professor who instilled so much knowledge into us that we are now successful leaders in the Bronx, but we give all credit to our teacher who picked us up and lifted us to learn to believe in ourselves. Thank you.

My cousin, We should not think of having lost a great, loving, sympathetic, Godly family member and friend. But instead, we should rejoice in knowing without a dough God has passed out another pare of wings to another angel. God Bless the one or you many who put this together, to allow the rest of us who can not travel for what ever the reasons be, a way to express a little of what we feel and thought of this loving person.

    Dear Uncle Ben,

I do not even know where to begin. I do not want this to be a "Goodbye" but to be a "See You Later Baby" (in your voice). From a little girl until my young adult years I looked forward every summer to see your warming grace. We shared so many laughs during the summers. That was always the highlight of my year to go back home and spend time with the family. I will never forget the conversations about college and ways of being successful that you shared with me over the years. Now that I have a new edition to the many GREAT ANGELS watching over me my head should not hang low. I will continue to push even harder because I know achieving my goals is what you would have wanted of me. THANK YOU UNCLE BEN & I LOVE YOU!! You will be truly missed.

"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." Revelation 21:4
