John D. Myrick, Jr., age 85 of Slidell, LA passed away Sunday, December 29, 2013 in Slidell. He was born July 30, 1928 in Monticello, AR, the son of the late John D. Myrick, Sr. and Novie Lee Worbington Myrick.

He was a retired accountant, U. S. Navy Veteran of World War II and of the Baptist faith. Other than his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Maylene Huff Myrick, one daughter, Deborah Perkins and one sister, Mary Myrick Ferguson.

Survivors include one son, Gary R. Myrick and wife Nancy of Anchorage, AK; a son-in-law, Bob Perkins of Slidell, LA; five grandchildren, Tracy Roberson, Sandra Zeiler, Gary Ray Myrick, Jr., Katie Rowley and Kerri Perkins; sixteen great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
