At an early age, she joined Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church and committed her life to the Lord. She was a member of the Nancy Brandon Mission Circle and attended when she could. In later years, she attended church regularly. She remained a faithful servant until her health failed. Often Jessie Mae would say, "If all members were just like me, what kind of church would my church be?" Sister Jessie loved people, her church family and never met a stranger.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Willie Mae Miller, of Monticello, AR; one son, James (Elizabeth) Ingram of Hot Springs, AR; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
