He was a well test operator in the oil industry. He was also preceded in death by his father, Mitchell Lavon "Mickey" Ellis, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Albert O. Beard, Jr and Elsie Whitlock Beard and paternal grandparents, Tommie Richard Ellis and Roxie Irene Watson Ellis.
Survivors include his mother; Gwendolyn Beard Ellis of Monticello; two sisters, Nancy McKeown and husband, Bud of Rock Springs, Candice Carter and husband, Derek of Conway; the love of his life, Dianna Sharum of Fort Smith; two nephews, Matthew McKeown and Andrew McKeown of Rock Springs; two nieces, Grace Ashton Gavin and Nora Beth Carter of Conway; one stepdaughter, Blair Hilburn and husband Jonathan of Jonesboro; two step-grandsons, Jace and Bryson Hilburn and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Graveside service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. 12:30 pm that same day at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home. Online guestbook www.stephensondearman.com.
