She was a retired nurse's aide at Leisure Lodge Nursing Home and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two husbands, Richard Andrew Griffin, Sr., the father of her children, and M.L. Glennon; one son, David Glen Cowan; one grandson, Dan E. Timmons; two brothers, G.W. and J.C. Scroggins; and three sisters, Ozell Scroggins, Dollie Mae Barnett and Shaddy Ferrell.
Survivors include three sons, Richard Griffin, Jr. and wife Ruthie and James Griffin and wife Della all of Monticello and Billy Griffin and wife Vickie of Sand Hill, MS; two daughters, Betty Timmons of Dumas and Rose Stephens and husband Carl of Taylor; one sister, Cora Piper and husband Johnny of Monticello; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with burial in Sixteenth Section Cemetery. Visitation 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Online guestbook www.stephensondearman.com.
