John W. Franklin Sr., 75 passed away, Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the Woods Nursing and Rehab facility in Monticello. He was born October 6, 1940 to the late William McKinny and Matilda Franklin of Longview, AR. He was a self-employed logger for several years.

He leaves to cherish his memories five children, three daughters and two sons; Carolyn Franklin of Syracuse, New York, Bamma Franklin of Monticello, Destiney Jones (Anthony) of Little Rock, John Franklin, Jr. (Sherrita) of Grandview, Missouri and Cedric Franklin of Warren.

He also leaves three siblings, Matilda Jordan of Monticello, Rev. Daniel Franklin (Helen) and Donald Franklin, Sr. of Fountain Hill; two aunts, Bobbie Jean Miller of Fountain Hill and Opal Jean Franklin of Maumelle; ten grand-children, nine great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 17 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with burial to follow in Longview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home. Online guestbook www.stephensondearman.com.
