William Lloyd Vest Sr., 89 of Monticello passed away, Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at his home in Monticello. He was born October 31, 1926 in Drew County to the late George Robert Vest and Annie Marcussen Vest.

He was a United States Army veteran of WWII, retired from Texaco Oil and Halley Oil Company as Manager of Monticello Division, and a member and deacon of Eastside Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by two brothers Raymond and James Vest and one sister Margaret Matthews.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Lois Wood Vest of Monticello; three sons, William Lloyd Vest, Jr. and wife Joyce, and Randall Vest, all of Monticello, and Bill Wood and wife Glenda of Milo; one daughter, Guylene Smith of Hamilton, OH; four granddaughters, Leigh Ashley Vest, Heather Vest, RandiRae Vest, and Cheyenne Tucker all of Monticello; five great-grandchildren, Courtlyn, Damien, Gracie, Landon and Drake.

Graveside service with military honors will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 14 at Union Ridge Cemetery with Rev. Zan Pierce officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home. Online guestbook www.stephensondearman.com.
