He was a construction worker and structural iron worker and of the Pentecostal faith. He was preceded in death by one son, Heydan Lee Hawkins, one brother, Marcus Shain Hawkins, one nephew, Alex Nicholas Hawkins, his grandfather, James Power, his grandparents, Richard Hawkins and Lucia Woods.
Survivors include his mother, Sandra Barnett of Star City; stepfather, James Barnett of Star City; his father, Hershel F. Hawkins, Sr. of Watson; three brothers, Hershel F. Hawkins, Jr. of Dewitt, Jason L. Hawkins of Star City and David Logan Hawkins of Monticello; three sisters, Brittany Nicole Phillips of Star City, Brittany Michele Hawkins of Monticello and Bethany Hawkins of Monticello; maternal grandmother, Porti Mantooth and husband Butch of Parrottsville, TN; paternal grandparents, Eddie Lee and Cookie Barnett of Monticello; several nieces and nephews.
