Murry Lamar "Bubba" Davis, age 62 of Monticello, formerly of Dermott, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. He was born November 2, 1953 in Dermott, AR to the late Murry C. Davis and Marie Connard Davis.

He was retired from the Drew County Detention Center, a United States Army Vietnam Veteran and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Marie Barnes. He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans Motorcycle Club.

Survivors include two sons, Jeremy Davis and wife Amy of Banks and Bo Davis of Lake Village; one sister, Ilarbee Moss of Dermott; two grandsons, Joseph Davis and Harley Davis; one granddaughter, Emarie Davis; one niece, several nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 11:00 am Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with burial to follow in Dermott Cemetery in Dermott, AR. Visitation 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Online guestbook at www.stephensondearman.com.

    I was saddened to learn of Bubba's passing. I remember our times together when he and his family lived in the mobile home across the street from the Dermott Assembly of God. I often remember Bubba's classic responses to certain stories. I can still hear Miss Marie using all three of his names calling him into the house. I enjoyed playing music with his dad.     I found out Sunday that I had loss my Best friend and I cannot tell you how that hurt, I had plans on retiring in a few more years, moving back to Arkansas and spending our last days telling lies and fishing. I am really hurt and sadden that that will not happen, I am going to miss you my old friend, Until we meet again.
