He accepted Christ in his life at an early age at Green Mount A.M.E Church in Coleman, AR. Robert graduated from Drew High School in 1975. His favorite pastimes included playing pool with his late uncle Harvey Staples and friends, hunting, and fishing.
Robert was retired from the City of Monticello where he worked for 18 years until his health began to fail.
He was preceded in death by his parents Zach and Earlene and two sisters Ada Nolen and Patricia McCoy.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his son Kevin Nolen of Conway, AR; four daughters Taiwan "Evette" (Tarl) Franklin of Killeen, TX, Shataque Nolen of Monticello, AR, Shevonda (Shurun) Jenkins of Hamburg, AR, and LaKeisha Nolen of North Little Rock, AR; six brothers Nathan Nolen and Patrick Nolen of Little Rock, AR, Eddie (Gurtha) Nolen of Star City, AR, Billie Nolen of McGhee, AR, Terry (Tiffany) Nolen of Monticello, AR, and Kenneth Nolen of Forrest City, AR; four sisters Nancy (Rodney) Stanley of Monticello, AR, Catholyn (Jerry) McCollum of Jacksonville, AR, Verlene (Daryl) Porter of North Little Rock, AR, Wanda Parrott of Conway, AR. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral service will be 2:30 pm, Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with burial to follow in Green Mount Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until service time. Online guestbook www.stephensondearman.com
