Bernard "Bernie" Chatman, age 86, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at the Woods Nursing and Rehab in Monticello. He was born December 10, 1929 in Drew County, AR to the late Nathan Dudley Chatman and Lemie Pauline Barnett Chatman.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy, a retired pipeliner, member of Operators Engineers Union 624 and was of the Assembly of God faith. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Martha Louneil King Chatman; a grandson, Jonathan Dudley Chatman; and a sister, Opal Scogin.

Survivors include three sons, Barry Wayne Chatman, Phill Chatman and wife Dottie and Paul Chatman all of Monticello; two daughters, Pam Gober and husband Chris and Mary Musick both of Monticello; thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2016 at New Hope Assembly of God church with burial to follow in Green Hill Cemetery with military honors.
