I served in the armed forces.
Billy Ray Hill, age 65 of Monticello, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. He was born August 5, 1950 in Monticello, AR to the late Marion Hill and Ethel Inez Jeffers Brantley.

He was retired from Curry's Termite and a United States Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam era in Germany. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Harold Clyde Penick. Billy Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to the horse races but his greatest love was his family and friends.

Survivors include one son, James Ray Hill of Monticello; one brother, Jerry Penick and wife LaWanda of Monticello; two sisters, Ethel Ruthie Wright of Bastrop, LA and Shirley McClure and husband Dewey of Monticello; a sister-in-law Virginia Lucille Penick of McGehee; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and a special friend, Virginia Hill of Fountain Hill.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Monday, April 25, 2016 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with burial to follow in Oakland Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation 6:00-8:00 pm Sunday evening at the funeral home. Online guestbook www.stephensondearman.com.
