She was the widow of Robert Stanley Pearson and a retired College Professor of Art at UAM.
Survivors include her son, Ronald K. Pearson of West Hartford, CT; one daughter, Debra C. Thomas of Montello, NV; two brothers, Robert Tompkins of Shawnee Mission, KS and Dale Tompkins of Vasser, KS; three granddaughters and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home. Online guestbook www.stephensondearman.com.

We often told everyone we were graduates from the Bea Pearson School of Art, because for years she was the only art instructor at UAM . Over the years there is no telling how many of her students entered art education in southeast Arkansas and elsewhere.
