Jimmie Rodgers, age 86 of Monticello, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at his home in Monticello. He was born July 14, 1929 in Drew County, AR to the late Lloyd Rodgers and Lela Mae Goyne Rodgers. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Bobbie Jean Stephenson Rodgers.

He was a self-employed businessman/entrepreneur and a Baptist. Jimmie was a family man who loved taking care of his family. He enjoyed traveling, camping and listening to bluegrass music.

Survivors include two sons, Jimmie L. Rodgers and wife Aundie and Randy Rodgers and wife Vanessa all of Crossett; one brother, Ervin Rodgers and wife Sue of Crossett; four sisters, Christine Pennington and husband Hugh of Monticello, Aurelia Pennington and husband Nolan of Fayetteville, Merle Hickam of Monticello and Dovie Reno of Ozark; three grandchildren, Shana Marquis and husband Tony of Benton, LA, Amber Rodgers Pope of Crossett and Brandi Dodson and husband Frank of Crossett; and six great-grandchildren, Ty and Lana Dodson, Anna Kate and Grace Pope and Madison and Macy Marquis.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jamie Staley and Rev. David Jacks officiating. Visitation will be from noon until service time Thursday. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery in Drew County. Memorials may be given to Green Hill Cemetery Association and Hospice Home Care.
