He confessed his love for Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of the Morning Star Baptist Church where he served as usher, superintendent and van driver.
He attended Monticello Schools where he graduated in 1978. He attended one year at the University of Arkansas at Monticello and two years at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Nelson and Rebecca Cochran and Julius Matthews and an aunt, Darlene Mallett.
Survivors include his wife, Gwendolyn Rogers; one son, William (Ketrina) Rogers; one daughter, Natasha Rogers; one grandson, Andrew Rogers; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Morning Star Baptist Church with Rev. D.J. Buffington officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Arrangements by Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home. Online guestbook at www.stephensondearman.com.
