Ancy Mae Burch McKiever, age 97 of Drew County, passed away Friday, February 24, 2017 at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello, AR. She was born January 15, 1920 in Drew County, AR to the late Ancy Arthur Burch and Minnie Vining Burch.
She was the widow of D.L. McKiever and a member of Prairie Grove Baptist Church. She was self-employed and co-owner of McKiever's Packing Company. She, along with her late husband, started the business in 1945 in the Prairie Grove community in Drew County and operated it there 31 years before moving it to its present location on Hwy. 425 South in 1976. The business is still in operation today and is operated by two of her sons.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Betty McKiever; two brothers, Billy and Freeman Burch; five sisters, Mary Graham, Della Thomas, Clennie Clampit, Winnie Varnell and Maysel Stubbs.
Survivors include three sons, Donald McKiever and wife Tona of Monticello, Garel McKiever of DeQueen and Dale McKiever and Nita of the Prairie Grove community; four grandchildren, Bret McKiever of Lockesburg, Stacy McKiever Janes of DeQueen, Brandon McKiever of Lonoke and Amanda McKiever of Giddings, TX; and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Monday, February 27, 2017 at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jerry Carter and Rev. Ricky Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Grove Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home. Online guestbook at www.stephensondearman.com.
