She was the widow of William Floyd "Bill" Black, a homemaker and a member of New Hope Assembly of God Church. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, William Charles Black; a grandson she raised, Jeremy Black; two brothers, Aubrey "Buddy" Wilson and Charles Wilson.
Bennie Wilson Black was a fun loving person. She enjoyed many things, most of all her family. Good books and movies, quilting, traveling and her "famous" afternoon naps were among her "Top Ten" favorites. Bennie was a great storyteller and never minced words. When Bennie told a story, they were so vivid and full of detail, it was as if you were there. You were in for a special treat if Bennie chose to share one of her many stories with you.
Survivors include a son, Andy Black of Fayetteville; one daughter, Lee Ann "Boo" Black of Monticello; son, Mark Black of Rogers; one brother, Larry Wilson and wife Charlotte of New Hope; two sisters, Martha Burton and Linda Berryman and husband Joe both of Green Hill; two grandsons, Will Black and wife Kaci of Bossier City, LA and Ben Black of Monticello; two great-grandchildren, Landyn Black and Knox Black; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. The family would also like to recognize a special nephew, Robert (Robbie) Burton who called Bennie unfailingly each and every morning. Their discussions were wide ranging; from local restaurants, recipes, T. V. shows and the good ole days.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2018 at New Hope Assembly of God Church with burial to follow in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation one hour prior to the service at the Church. Memorials to: New Hope Assembly of God Church, c/o Hugh Pennington, 738 Bowser Rd., Monticello, AR 71655. Online guestbook at www.stephensondearman.com.
