Kaye Roach of Monticello, AR passed away peacefully on Monday, September 10, 2018, at her home at the age of 74. Kaye was born to Pete and Pug (Blackwell) Howe of Nebo, Oklahoma on August 26, 1944. Her youth was spent bottling calves and racing barrels, a real cowgirl on a family dairy farm. Kaye graduated from Oklahoma State with a Home Economics degree. It was in Shreveport, LA while completing her Medical Technology ASCP Certification when Kaye met Johnny in a movie theatre only to discover that they both worked in the same hospital. Kaye married Johnny Roach in Sulphur, OK on December 21, 1968. Prior to moving to Monticello, AR, they made homes in Anchorage, AK, Shreveport, LA and North Little Rock, AR.

If you needed a helping hand with any household task and Kaye offered to help, you knew that you were getting the most untiring and talented person you could find. Her loved ones know her tasks here are through, and she is finding a renewed energy in a new place.

Over the span of almost 45 years in Monticello, Kaye lived a blessed life-actively participating in the ministry of First Baptist Church, raising a family, and participating in her community. Kaye loved worship time at FBC, teaching Sunday School as well as the opportunities to chaperone the youth group and to serve on the hospitality team. Often seen at athletic and school events, Kaye shouldered her camcorder capturing as many memories of her children as possible. Being a health occupations teacher at Monticello Occupational Education Center provided Kaye the opportunity to support and encourage students beyond just the books and skills she taught. She also loved to decorate and found ways to incorporate her creative eye and tireless energy into all "projects". When the children started their own families, she drove across 3 states to spend time with the grandchildren she loved so much. She loved all these things and used them to enrich her relationship with all that knew her.

Kaye is survived by her devoted husband, Johnny Roach of 50 years; four dear children, Frank Roach of Atlanta, Ga, Howe and (Brandi) Roach of Fayetteville, AR, John and (Paula) Roach of Bixby OK, and Cindy and (Brian) Campion of Richardson, TX; one brother, Steve and (Sherry) Howe of Nebo, OK; one sister, Karen and (Tom) Byrd of Mount Pleasant, TX; ten grandchildren, Griffin, Anna, Samantha, Riley, Emerson, Lofton, Keller, Wyatt, Lola, and Mase; and many nieces and nephews which she held very dear.

Kaye's entire family offers a heartfelt thank you to the angels that sat in our home to comfort and care for "Ms. Kaye". Team Kaye - you will forever be a part of our family. Also, we are grateful for our community of medical professionals and friends who supported our mother and wife throughout her journey.

The family will host a visitation on Friday, September 14, 2018, at the First Baptist Church of Monticello, 413 North Main St. from 6:00-8:00 p.m. while her body will lie in state at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral home from 3:00-8:00 p.m. A private committal service will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 15th. A celebration service will be held at First Baptist Church of Monticello, AR on Saturday, September 15th at 2:00 p.m. The family has designated the College Ministry of FBC, 413 North Main, Monticello, AR 71655 for memorial contributions.
