She was born October 16, 1926 to the late Claude and Gladys Breazealle McAbee in Hamburg, Arkansas. She was a homemaker, a Christian, and a person who loved all she came in contact with. She was very proud of her family and loved her church and her community. She was very well known for sharing her faith with those she came in contact with, as well as her wonderful pies, cakes, and candies she would make for many.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband John "Dusty" Smith, her sister Mary McAbee Lochala, and a great-grandson Dustin "Rooster" Ferguson.
Survivors include her daughter Diane Ferrell (Tommy) of Monticello, her son David Smith of Monticello, and her daughter Denise Frost of Monticello. She is also survived by five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with visitation to take place one hour preceding the funeral service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Joe Frost, Robert Rosegrant, Bill Gulledge, David Wheeles, Phillip Ebarb, Jake Gulledge, and Mark Lochala.
Honorary Pallbearers are Shannon Fletcher, Wayne Ferrell, Josh Frost, Ray Ferguson, Luke Frost, Matt Smith, Nic Smith, Caleb Davis, Jason Carter, Shiloh Gober and Jonathan Towler.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Jeff Reinhart and Dr. Tim Simon, as well as all of the staff and administration at Belle View Estates and Hospice Care.
