He was a retired Tow Boat Pilot for the Corp. of Engineer for 26 years, veteran of the United States Coast Guard and was member of Friendship Baptist Church in Amite, LA. He was also preceded in death by one son, David D. Lowery
Survivors include his wife of 50 years Lydia Warnock Lowery of Collins; two daughters, Lee Ann Rotten and husband Jerry of Jacksonville; Leslie Estes and husband Edward of Collins; five grandchildren, Kristen, Jessica, Ashly, Sara and Emma; one sister Jessie Head of Hammonds, LA; four great-grandchildren, Kaylee Jo, Zoey Jane, Rebel Ann, Larkin Lilabeth; an expectant great-grandchild; and many other relatives and friends.
Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Collins Cemetery. Online guestbook at www.stephensondearman.com.
