She is survived by her children, Van Beard of Monticello, Pamela Mencer of Lake Village, and Monica Blakely of Bryant; her grandchildren, Stephanie Gladden, Leslie Beard, Alex Beard, William Mencer, Josef Mencer, Raven Hefner, and Adrianna Denay; her great grandchildren, Addison Bradshaw, Asher Gladden, Natalie Beard, Madilyn Beard, Cole Hefner, and Roan Hefner; her nephew, Gary Clingman and her nieces, Sonja Williams and Alison Fleming. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leslie "Shorty" Beard; her sister, Cora Lee Clingman; her brother, Donald Fleming; and her daughter, Leslie Faye Beard.
Faye was born on April 18, 1929 in Monticello, Arkansas to parents Vance Fleming and Edith Fleming. She graduated from U of A at Monticello with a degree in Education. She worked as a school teacher at Enon, Drew Central, Monticello and Montrose, Arkansas for over 40 years. She was an active member of the Pauline Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with family, working on the farm, and the education of Arkansas' youth. Her family and friends will always remember her as a hard-working and devoted person.
A funeral is scheduled for Saturday, December 29, 2018 on Saturday, at 3:00 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home with Brother Larry Clements officiating. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, December 28th from 5:00 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Faye's life.
