She was an Interior Designer and was of the Baptist faith. Joyce loved traveling to 48 continental states and also traveling abroad. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Ricky Carmical; her brother, Paul Hesselbein; her stepfather, Rev. Frank A. Hesselbein and her mother, Ellen Hesselbein.
Survivors include one son, Larry Carmical and wife Joann of Highland Heights, OH; her daughter, Barbara Piazza and husband David of Bossier City, LA; one brother, Harold Rice, Sr. of North Little Rock; five grandchildren, Dawn Piazza of Vivian, LA, Amy Hollis and husband Tommy of Bossier City, LA, Chris Piazza and wife Abigail of Sioux Falls, SD, Blaze Carmical and Hunter Carmical both of Mayfield Heights, OH; and ten great-grandchildren.
The family would like to issue a special thanks to the staff at Stratmore Nursing Home and The Bloom Assisted Living for their kindness and care.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 6, 2019 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with burial in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Online guestbook at www.stephensondearman.com.
