Patricia Kulbeth, 88, of Wilmar, Arkansas died 14 April 2020 at her home in a house fire. She was the youngest child of Henry Otis Porter and Eurice Dewitt Ingram Porter, born 21 March 1932 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She married Fred Deonal Kulbeth on 26 August 1950 in Fayetteville.
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, parents and her siblings: James Otis, Daniel Dewitt and Rosemary Porter York. She is survived by her 10 children, 40 grandchildren, and 72 great-grandchildren. Her children are: James (Patricia), Cedaredge, CO; Roger (Olivia), Stafford, VA; Teresa (David Hocking), Raleigh, NC; Carolyn (Blaine Kennington), Castle Rock, WA; Anita (Rod Lyon), Sandy, UT; Belinda (James Shaw), Roan Mountain, TN; Janice (Ron Gneiting), Parker, CO; Virginia (Jody Lemmon), Allen, TX; Marsha (Mark Van de Voorde), Vancouver, WA; Nancy (Richard Bloxham), Pocatello, ID. Her greatest joy in this life was her family.
"Mother" was a homemaker in every sense of the word. She created a happy home. Meal times were magic; flowers filled the yard; clothes were lovingly crafted; garden produce was shared and preserved; music enlivened her home; and the gospel of Jesus Christ was loved and taught. Homemade bread was her signature gift. She was honored to provide the weekly sacramental bread for her congregation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for over 40 years. She gave a lifetime of service in the local church organization as president of the children's Primary and the women's Relief Society, as well as ministering in love wherever she could. She will be greatly missed, but her legacy lives on. She was always learning and sharing. She helped others teach new generations what they learned from her. Her circle of influence lives on. We believe Christ has made it possible to be with our families forever. She has joined Fred and her extended family in a heavenly realm and awaits our arrival to spend eternity together with our Heavenly Father and His Only Begotten Son- our Savior, Jesus Christ.
She was a self-taught professional seamstress and imparted those skills to hundreds. She was hired as the first Fabric Department manager when Wal-Mart opened in Monticello in 1980. She worked there for 19 years, where her positive attitude was contagious. She warmed the hearts of every customer. "Miss Patricia," as she was known, served with a smile in a myriad of organizations, including Master Gardeners of the Delta, and Drew County, the County Home Extension Club-Town & Country Quilters and County Fair activities, Andrews Chapel Cemetery Assn., and Friends of the Library-Chocolate Extravaganza.
A private graveside service was held on 21 Mar 2021 with her ten children and their spouses at the Andrews Chapel Cemetery in the Barkada Community of Drew County.

Boise, ID Saturday, May 30, 2020 I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Sister Kulbeth. But oh, my goodness! What wonderful memories I have of being at the Kulbeth home as a child in LaPorte, TX.Mom was divorced/single, and worked full time. I was a timid 8 year old, and we were just getting active in church. The Kulbeth family welcomed us with open arms and helped my mom a lot by letting me stay with them whenever needed.
Oh, the memories...even with ten children, it was not chaotic in the Kulbeth home. It was truly a house of order, and Fred & Patricia worked hard to make it that way. Patricia was always cheerful and vibrant and could do anything. Her bread was amazing and she also sewed some dresses for me. Aside from her sewing, canning, cooking, serving in church callings, and teaching her children, she also had a sparkle in her eye and an easy laugh.
All the children had responsibilities, which they did without complaint. With Teresa "in charge of the girls", they had better not complain. haha :) But after they worked, they played, and just seemed to find a simple joy in life which was tied to their love for each other and their faith in Jesus Christ...all a tribute to their loving mom.
There will always be a special place in my heart for the Kulbeth family. I feel truly blessed to have known them and to have felt like I was part of their family for a small moment in time. Thank you forever.
Sherri Taylor

Fitchburg, MA Sunday, May 10, 2020 Patricia (and Fred) Kulbeth will always be near and dear to my heart. As far back as I can remember they were a staple in my childhood. Whether it be in church or running into them in town I always loved seeing them and sharing events of my life with them. After Fred died, I still would search Patricia out at Walmart during my many visits with my grandmother. I am so saddened to hear that such a beautiful soul has moved on but my faith brings me comfort knowing that Heaven is gaining an angel who leaves behind a legacy of love, hope, and generosity. My thoughts and prayers are sent to all of Patricia’s friends and family during this most challenging and heart wrenching time.Love,
Tanya Carlson (maiden name Grisham)

Monticello, AR Friday, April 24, 2020 Kulbeth family,Our hearts are breaking knowing the Sister Kulbeth is gone, but she will not be forgotten! Walking in to church and seeing her smiling face and her hugs letting us know she missed us and how glad she was to see us at church.
During the spring time it was so neat to come home and see a sack on the door step with fresh veggies, especially tomatoes. I still get tickled thinking about the time my family and I went to help the Brother Fred & Sister Patricia Kulbeth with something at their house. Their garden had many vegetables that were ready to pick. My husband and Sister Patricia went around tasting the different verities of her banana peppers. She picked one and took a bit it ended up being a hot pepper, she squealed trying to spit it out, I thought Brother Fred was going pass out because he couldn’t catch his breath from laughing.
They were a very sweet couple! I know that Brother Fred is missed and now Sister Patricia will be missed also, but oh the reunion she had with him and her family! It’s such a blessing to know Sister Patricia Kulbeth and her family.
We love y’all the Forrest’s

Baytown, TX Thursday, April 23, 2020 from Arlene Berges, (my step mother) in La Porte, Texas, where we met and loved the Kulbeth family: " She sure saved my life a few times with her sewing skills and her big heart. She came over the day I came home with Amy from the hospital. She set her children down with coloring books, etc. to keep them entertained while she worked. And work she did. She swept, mopped, and ironed within an hour. She also had along her youngest child, a newborn and just a week older than Amy. Patricia was a remarkable woman. She was a blessing to me as well as many others. Her loving actions were a testament to the gospel path and I learned a lot from her. Her children were surely blessed to have her as their mother and teacher. "Gail Kizer
Dermott, AR Thursday, April 23, 2020 Patricia was a dear friend of mine. I would call her when I was going to take leave from the Extension Service and she would gladly come and keep the office in my absence. I never worried about any thing when Patricia was on the job. She was one of the sweetest people I have ever met. We exchanged phone calls often and kept up with each other even after I retired. She definitely was "one of a kind" and will really be missed by all of us.Melanie Ferguson
Baytown, TX Thursday, April 23, 2020 Patricia was such a fine second mother to me as a teenager. She happily gave me free sewing lessons and taught me so much about cooking and baking. I still use her bread recipe and ate many slices of it fresh from her oven, as she baked 10 loaves at a time. She even sewed by wedding dress, which I still own to this day, and think of her lovingly when I see it. I am sorry that she is no longer on earth, but happy for her heavenly reunion and great reward there.Judy Kelley

Woodlawn, AR Wednesday, April 22, 2020 To all of Patricia's family and extended family. Please accept my deepest sympathy on your great loss. Patricia would never want us to be sad but she will be missed so much by so many. Our Bible tells us to rejoice when Christ takes one of his children home to be with Him. He took home one of His children who will make Heaven even brighter. To me, Patricia was a most awesome woman. After my sister, Mary Lasiter, began to have health issues Patricia was right there with food, planting flowers and just bringing a beautiful smile and friendship and visiting. Mary was just one of so many that she helped. My prayer is that the Lord will touch each of you with his loving, healing hands and give you the comfort, peace and strength that only He can give.Carole (Doss) Rushing
