Norris Hokes Sr., Better known as Didi to those who loved him, answered God's call at the age of 95 on April 22, 2020 at his home surrounded by family and friends.
He was born March 9, 1925, in Collins, AR to the late Dank Hokes and Minnie Bosley Hokes. He was united in matrimony to Vicotria Lee Jiles Hokes on December 12, 1954. From this union, ten children were born. He worked as a farmer until his retirement. He became a member of The School Street Church of Christ in 1983. He lead a full life surrounded by family and friends. He loved to tell animated stories and enjoyed a good western. He left an impression on all those he met.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Victoria Lee Jiles Hokes, of Dermott, AR, Rosie Flowers, of Dermott, AR, sons, Rickey Hokes, of Big Springs, TX, Herman Hokes (Pam), of Big Springs, TX, and Freddie Hokes, of Dermott, AR, daughters, Delores Racey, Milwaukee, WI, Vickie O'Neal (Robert), of Dermott, AR, Rosie Hegler (Kenneth), of Dermott, AR, and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Those who preceded him in death include his son, Norris Hokes, Jr., daughter, Prince Mae Hokes, Brothers, Herbert Hokes, Massey Hokes, Edward Hokes, and Charlie Hokes, sisters, Virgil Turner, Dolly Smith, Willie Lewis, and Mary Lou Houston.
Due to COVID-19, a Private Graveside service will be Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at 11am in Little Zion Cemetery, in Baxter, AR.
