He was also preceded in death by his wife, Anna Marie Guess. Carl was a graduate of Little Rock Central High School and a Polio survivor and was always tough as nails. He withstood much physical pain in his life but was still able to be a successful businessman harvesting turtle eggs and raising them. He also made time to enjoy life and spend quality time with his grandchildren whom he loved very much. Carl was also an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include two daughters, Teresa Donato (Paul) of Billings, MT and Mary Hobbs (Anthony) of Selma; six grandchildren, Rebekah Gray (Bunner), Carrie Hobbs (Jay), Toni Jacobs (Tommy), MaryBeth Forrest (Lee), Lisa Donato (Heather) and Cindy Donato; nine great grandchildren, Jasmine, Adison, Audrey, Josie, Thomas, Alanis, Landon, Avery and Mason; two step daughters, Beverly Hall of Little Rock and Kathy Hall of Miami, FL; a step granddaughter, Candice Bradley (Rebecca); a step grandson, Waylan Martin; and two very special friends that took excellent care of him and treated him as a father, Kevin Erwin and Faye Speer.
The family would like to issue a special "thank you" to Dr. Tim Simon, Dr. Michelle Pittman and Dr. John Jerius; and also a special nurse, Julie Hayes.
It was Carl's wishes that no memorial services be held at his death.
