I served in the armed forces.
Rev. Marvin LeVert Ashford was born December 7, 1960, in Monticello, AR to the late Maurice and Mae Lene Ashford. He departed this life on February 27, 2023, at Desha County Hospital in McGehee, AR.
Later in life, he became a member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He soon accepted a call to ministry and assumed a position of Pastoral Associate at Morning Star and Pastor of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Rowher, AR.
Marvin graduated from Monticello High School, class of 1979. After graduation, he joined the National Guard and attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello. Marvin was an avid fisherman, he enjoyed cooking, singing and sports. He was employed with Advantages until the time of his death.
Marvin leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Felicia Ashford, two daughters, Teressa (Brandon) Johnson and Marissa Ashford, both reside in Little Rock, AR, two stepsons, Kenneth (Fannie) Kilpatrick of McGehee, AR and Lekevious Kilpatrick of Pine Bluff AR. He also leaves to cherish his memory two sisters, Jo Martin-Gentry, and Gayle (Terrence) Burks, one brother Joseph Timothy Ashford and five grandchildren; a host of in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, and cousins.
