He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force having served nine years in WWII and Korean Wars. He was a retired general contractor, loved hunting and fishing and was a member of Florence Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Survivors include two sons, Ben Arrington, Jr. and Bret Anthony Arrington, both of Monticello; one daughter, Oma Melinda Cooper of Springfield, MO; two sisters, Evelyn Lawson of Monticello and Mae Allison of California; four grandchildren, Bret Arrington, Jr., Mary Emily Orrell, Aaron Michael Orrell and Evan Benson Arrington.

I only knew Mr. Arrington briefly having met him in Lena's Cafe where we shared stories of our earlier days over Lena's very good food. Mr. Arrington was easy to talk to and visit with, and, he talked a lot about Florence in East Drew County. Although I live in Little Rock, I always hoped he would be in Lena's Cafe when I had the opportunity to stop there.
