Vivian Wilson Harris, 91 passed away Wednesday, February 20 at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. She was born May 21, 1921 to the late Robert Warden Wilson and Annie Doss Wilson. She was also preceded in death by her husband Loren Harris.

Mrs. Harris was a successful business woman, serving fourteen years as a bookkeeper for doctors Robert and Lewis Hyatt. She later owned and operated Harris Florist and then Ben Franklin retail store. As an active member of the community, Vivian belonged to the Drew County Medical Assistants Society and was a charter member of Town and Country Garden Club. She was a member of First Baptist Church since 1953.

Vivian enjoyed good health most of her life which allowed her to do things she enjoyed, such as working in her yard, making quilts for her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the happiest when she could help others as she often did.

Mrs. Harris is survived by two daughters; Wanda, wife of Mike Cavaness of Monticello and Debrah wife of Clyde Dorrough, of Mtn. View; three grandchildren, Melissa, wife of Sandy Sanders of Monticello, Ann Gould of Ringgold, LA and Robert, husband of Katrina Cavaness of Monticello; five great-grandchildren, Ryan and Kelsey Watts, Dawson and Martin Gould, and Katie Grace Cavaness; two sisters, Bivian Collins and May Pennington of Monticello. She also had many nieces, nephews, and friends.

So sorry to hear of your mom's death. I know when we spoke last at the Heart Hospital; you had told me that her health was failing her. Just remember now she is walking the streets of gold and is awaiting all for her children & grandchildren to come to her home in heaven.

Vivian was always such a beautiful and sweet lady. My Dad was Brooklyn Kelley and Vivian's first cousin, I always had the best time when we would go to reunions at Aunt Annie's. A lot of precious people in that family. Cherish all the good memories. So sorry.

Mrs.Wanda,I was so sad to read of Mrs. Vivian passing away . Please know that I considered it a honor to have taken care of her . She was a classy lady. The highlight of my day everyday was to see her smile and to have her pat my hand or cheek after assisting her. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. (Nurse from WPNH)

Deborah, I am so sad to hear about your mother. I have such happy memories of us growing up here in Monticello, bunking parties at your house, dinner parties when we were learning to cook and many sleepovers. Your mother was always happy to have all of us girls to stay at your house. I remember her getting potato chips and french onion dip for us! Loved the stuff! You are in my thoughts and prayers at this time. What precious memories we have!
