He was a retired Chemical Engineer having received a BS in Chemical Engineering at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He was a member of Eden Baptist Church at Fountain Hill where he served as a deacon. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sara Horn Wigley; one brother, Billy Wigley; a brother-in-law, Billy Wayne Berry and a son, J.W. Wigley.
Survivors include one daughter, Lee Ellen Wigley of Kingwood, TX; one son, Joshua Wade Wigley of Boulder, CO; two sisters, Eleanor Wigley Stephenson and husband, Travis, of Monticello and Dorothy Berry of Fountain Hill; two sisters-in-law, Susan Horn Williams and husband, Jon, of Little Rock and Betty Wigley Berry and husband, Lorenz, of Monticello; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

We worked together go several years, we in the same car pool for a time, and we shared many hours of work and laughter. Sam was faithful and diligent at his work, he always had a great sense of humor, and he very obviously dearly loved his family. I know his passing leaves a deep hole in your heart.
