Pine bluff, AR Sunday, July 7, 2013 My grandmother was the best person I shared my life with. She was a beautiful lady . She loved to share her love for God.
She always gave all the glory to God for each day that God gave her to tell the story about jesus. She prayed for everyone and loved to smile.
I pray that I become just like her. She was my mother to me. She was
My hero. She loved flowers and She was a beautiful flower herself.
She was an angel and a dear blessing for me . Thank you mama!

North Little Rock, AR Friday, May 17, 2013 Every family needs an "Aunt Birdie" , she brightened up the room when she walked in. Always laughing, never meeting a stranger. She had lots of stories to tell of the "good ole days with Mama" (Granny Nick) I bet they were a mess. Never forget a family trip down to see her and Uncle CW in Houston and there coming the biggest rain since Noah and the streets flooding and Aunt Birdie saying "All we need is fishing poles about now" We always had a great time being around Aunt Birdie. I am so glad that this Aunt Birdie was part of our family. Give Granny Nick a hug for me ok. :)Joe & Kay Moseley Simmons

Conroe, TX Friday, May 17, 2013 I was 14 yrs. old when I first met Birdie and C.W. I had a hugh crush on their son Gary. The Parnell household was loud and fun!!! I think her fried chicken was the BEST.Gary and I married in 1964. We had two beautiful daughters...Rebecca Ruth and Amanda Ellen. When Gary died in 1975 it did not stop my relationship with the Parnell's.
Carolyn and Linda are still my sisters and their children are so loved by their Aunt Florence. Talk about a "green thumb"..she always had the prettiest yard.
Love to all my Parnell family

Spring, TX Thursday, May 16, 2013 As a young girl growing up on Wellington St. there are so many fond memories of my Mother. Mother 's talents were numerous , she was an artist in picture painting, sewing, gardening, and in style. Mother made my first formal ( a chiffon strapless with 17 tiers) it was the prettiest dress at my first prom. She not only sewed for her girls with great pride ,but she taught her girls to sew. I remember seeing her on the bank of a pond with a fishing pole in hand happy as can be (she loved to fish) I remember all the poodle hair cuts and perms.Mom loved working in her flower beds and was so proud of the fact that she knew the names of all the flowers. She was the best cook I have ever known and I learned all I know about cooking from her. She loved to sing and enjoyed being apart of te church choir. Company was always welcome and she enjoyed games especially 42. She was a proud and ranking Eastern Star Matron. As a teenager I remember saying "Mom where does all the time go? Days go by faster and faster" and her answer was 'yes ...make them count for the Lord"Betty King
Spring, TX Thursday, May 16, 2013 Birdie was a wonderful lady that I will never forget. As a young girl new to Houston, she took me during my very first hurricane (I was scared to death).... Carolyn and I spent the night in her childhood bedroom and we had a great, safe, and happy visit with her parents. It was such a blessing to be around a sweet Christian
who always made you feel safe and welcome. God Bless Her as she rests with the Lord.

Little Rock, AR Wednesday, May 15, 2013 As time marches on at a faster and faster pace ... I'm reminded of how leisurely life seemed back when the Nicholson clan gathered at Granny Nick's house for special occasions. It was always a pleasure and great surprise when Aunt Birdie and Uncle CW made the trip up to Arkansas from "Cut N Shoot". Ahhhhh... the memories. Just wish my kiddos could have experienced all those times back then. I miss those days--just like I miss all of my Dad's brothers and sisters. God Bless ya Aunt Birdie !!! And may your family find peace in knowing that you were so loved, and we were so blessed for knowing you!
